Leadership Development

Our Belief
Horses teach us what business books can’t: presence, emotional intelligence and authenticity.
2-Day Workshop Includes...
...Virtual meeting(s) with team leaders to set goals, and desired outcomes.
...Pre-work Clifton Strengths online personal assessment -- completed by each participant and submitted for faculty review in advance of the program.
--Day 1 Unveiling of your team’s strengths, prepared by The Horse Institute; orientation on
what we can learn from a herd of horses following the Leadership Diamond.

... Day 2 A series of 30-minute experiential, goal-oriented exercises led by certified facilitators in
partnership with equine faculty.

..Activity-by-activity debrief with leadership experts who have successful track records with
Fortune 100 companies, and the world's best academic institutions.
...Deep-dive exploration to call out Aha moments, insights and parallels to the day-to-day work
environment.
...Wrap-up outlining specific action items and behaviors that will help each leader transform
team productivity and workplace performance.

Today's Reality
Employee disengagement is at an all-time high, and burnout remains widespread and costly. In the past year, 8 out of 10 workers, including leaders, experienced burnout.
The classic top-down organizational structure emphasizes centralized authority, which amplifies pressure at the top, and underutilizes talent below.
A Fresh Reality
The more adaptive and responsive organizations experiment with the Leadership Diamond model, which encourages leadership to shift depending on the situation, expertise, or challenge.
In nature, horses have used this model to organize their herd since the beginning of times. Interacting with our herd of horses in a safe environment gives leaders a chance to experience what it feels like to share responsibilities, and fully access the talent of their colleagues.
Eye-Opening Results
Experiential learning with horses offers real-time opportunities to step up, experiment and learn. Teams self-correct and auto-regulate, much like how horses operate in herds. People contribute at their highest strength rather than staying confined to their role description.

Accommodations
If needed, we are happy to suggest accommodations for your team. For example, you can book your stay in a boutique hotel in Bernardsville, NJ just minutes from our New Jersey facility at the Bernards Inn
Their accommodations are enhanced by excellent service and amenities. They also offers nice dinning onsite.

Lunch and Snacks
We take great pride in working with local suppliers to provide delicious farm-to-table lunches. Let us know in advance what are your dietary preferences and restrictions. Snacks and refreshments will be refreshed through the day.
Around the Corner and Across the Globe
The Horse Institute’s base of operation is the US, conveniently located in the tri-state area around New York City, including parts of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
We also have experience with excellent facilities in Northern California, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, and would be happy to discuss your specific needs.
