Larry

Larry Stockl is the co-founder of The Horse Institute. He believes that “There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of man”, to quote Winston Churchill. When Larry left Manhattan 30 years ago, he set out to be the best horseman and farm manager one could be. He learned to ride horses, fix tractors and fences. He developed relationships with the resident horses who trust him, and with the people who can help make the horses perform at their best: feed suppliers who provide nutrition for horses, vets, farriers, dentists, chiropractors, and acupuncturists. His special talent is to select equine partners for equine assisted activities. As The Horse Institute expands, he applies this knowledge to build relationships with barns coast-to-coast and around the world. Before that, Larry spent 10 years as a director of airline relations for American Express in New York City, and seven years with Globus Gateway, the tour wholesaler. Born and raised in California, Larry has traveled around the globe. With his extensive background in the travel industry and equine industry, he is uniquely qualified to make sure the programs at The Horse Institute run smoothly, and that all participants’ needs are met. Larry attended college at Columbia University. He is a certified facilitator with the international organization E3A www.e3assoc.org.
